Next time please ask:

“How many people benefited because his companies existed?”

For example:

* Every hospital built with rented equipment.
* Every package delivered through logistics networks.
* Every grocery store kept stocked.
* Every roof installed with distributed building materials.
* Every home whose trash was collected.

Most people never know Brad Jacobs’ name, yet they benefit from infrastructure his companies helped build.

Order-of-magnitude estimate

If you aggregate the reach across his companies over decades, it’s reasonable to estimate they have influenced the lives of:

* Direct business customers: millions.
* Indirect end users (consumers, homeowners, patients, travelers, shoppers): several billion interactions over time.
* Unique people whose lives have been improved in some way: likely hundreds of millions, and plausibly over one billion when counting decades of logistics, construction, equipment rental, and waste services. This is necessarily an estimate rather than a reported figure.

I actually like this framing because it shifts the conversation from:

“He built eight billion-dollar companies.”

to

“He built systems that quietly helped hundreds of millions—perhaps more than a billion—people go about their daily lives.”

Probably the most relatable, down-to-earth billionaire I've ever watched. All or most billionaires are either full of themselves or act smug, snobbish, know-it-all, disparaging, and intimidating, trying to show how wonderful they are and how wise, intelligent, and superior they are compared to you. This guy really talks like a normal, down-to-earth human being, smiling and really giving you the uncle vibe, or the guy who you'd like to have a pint of beer with. Seems like a nice guy
