  The writers/creators of The Simpsons are legit math nerds. Like a good chunk of the original writers have math degrees and are very intelligent people. Those small details did not make it in there merely by coincidence, they purposefully knew what they were doing.<br><br>Also, as Futurama was created by the guy who created The Simpsons (Matt Groening), it&apos;s no surprise that Futurama had all those subtle little details as well.

  something interesting about the futurama one - i’m pretty sure the “fiddle battle with the devil for a golden fiddle” thing is a reference to the song “the devil went down to georgia”. i’m surprised nobody has pointed this out, it just adds another cool layer to the clip
