  Great video!  I decided on an EFHW because it's easy to set up in my backyard from the house to a tree; it was the practical choice.  My first HF radio is on order after getting my license about 35 yrs ago and then falling out of the hobby until now.  Thank you for the easy to follow explanation.  I may go to a dipole at some point but I'll wait to see how the EFHW performs!  73

  Well done. &nbsp;Thank you for mentioning the radiation pattern. &nbsp;Far too many of us are fixating on SWR because that&apos;s what the advertising boasts, but really it&apos;s always about how much RF is being radiated. &nbsp;Keep up the great work.

  Probably the best video I&apos;ve seen about EFHW. It explained it all so clearly. Very helpful! <br>I passed my HAM radio exam back in 1992 but never got on the air, so here I am in 2026 finally considering my first station. I&apos;m based on the south coast of the UK. Because of my home layout, I&apos;m considering an EFHW for my new base station, although after watching your video I&apos;ll certainly give some more thought to my plans before I purchase any equipment.<br>I&apos;ve subscribed and look forward to watching more of your content.<br>73s<br>Andy G7OCS

  Excellent points. My EFHW has given me 1000s of POTA hunting QSOs, even with its inefficiencies. You covered them well.<br>Now, a rant about background music in YT videos. It seems to be a fad with many influencers. Yet... Consider people with hearing problems, a non-critical % of people. Many of us who have these problems use hearing aids, whose sole purpose is to improve speech recognition in environments with background noise. Your soothing background music becomes someone else&apos;s background noise. &nbsp;Think QRM!
