  This was generally good.  One quibble, not an error, but an omission.  One big reason that the Bastille was stormed was that it was an armory.  Now the Paris mob had guns and ammunition.

  Historians do not get 'this wrong'. This is all well known, but reading and studying take effort and most people are just happy to have history given to them in a few easy to remember sentences.

  Am from India , we are taught french revolution in our school curriculum , I love history and was fascinated by this story obviously , but we are taught such a simplistic and incomplete version , glad to know the full truth and now it makes absolute sense , that why it played out the way it did , wish more people will wake up to the entire truth , will watch u guys for such content

  Great documentary. Interesting how the ones in power sometimes get so blinded, they do not see the riscs anymore.

  In Australia in high school I studied The French Revolution, it started during the reign of The Sun King and The Seven Years War. We learned about the huge tax burden from the peasants and the nobility not taxed hardly at all, inflation, Rousseau, The Enlightenment, the vacillating King Louis, bankruptcy through the American Revolution and all of the other wars, the Nobility blocking reform, the Louisiana purchase and everything after it including the rise of Napoleon, convening the Estates General (but not exactly WHY). Of course we learned the blood thirsty bits like The Terror, Mirabeau, Robespierre, Danton, The September Massacres, The Companies of Jesus, aristocrats being roasted alive. One female aristocrat was stripped and SA&apos;d in front of the crowd. Her heart was cut out while she was still alive, roasted then eaten. Her leg was cut off, stuffed into a cannon. As a 17-18 year old this was all horribly fascinating. We learned about THAT but....<br>....we didn&apos;t learn about Naker&apos;s massive lie to the nation about the state of finances, the staggering incompetence of previous ministers with regards to finance, ALL of the draconian taxes on the peasantry such as salt, roads (but we did hear about the tithes), the nobility and clergy rejecting Cologne&apos;s proposal that the elites be taxed at 2 minutes to midnight, Britain flooding France with cheap goods that they couldn&apos;t match (eg textiles), the extreme weather that devastated crops such as the drought and hail stones and floods. It was a perfect storm, and the parts left out were the most important, just like they left out the Berlin to Baghdad railway as a primary cause for WW1.

  Oh, I&apos;ll &quot;smash&quot; that &quot;Like&quot; button all right ! &nbsp; This was excellent ! ! &nbsp; The visuals were a wild 18th / 19th-century mix, but they matched the narrative so well that I almost didn&apos;t care. Of course, there&apos;s no such thing as an 18th-century photograph, so I&apos;ll have to cut you some slack.
