It was really brave of him to prove to us that eating 6 years worth of Mcdonalds in a month while being a horrible alcoholic was detrimental to your health.

The biggest scam in this movie is he faked feeling addicted and was an alcoholic so his throwing up after eating was because of hangover not food

In my man’s defense, McDonald’s does tastes pretty great when you’re chronically hungover

The most frustrating part is that Super Size Me's cultural impact basically erased any actual, genuine criticism that McDonald’s deserves, like the infamous Hot Coffee lawsuit. The woman who sued McDonald’s over their coffee actually had severe third degree burns, even to the point that the coffee fused her labia. She spilled her coffee in a parked car, and her niece was the one in the driver's seat. McDonald’s had hundreds of complaints about the coffee in the past and McD corporate required their coffee to be held above the boiling temperature point so they wouldn't have to keep making fresh coffee. The actual story behind the lawsuit is genuinely sad, and McDonald’s was completely in the wrong, and they deserve genuine criticism and backlash for their part in making the victim out to be an idiot who will sue over something so little (which she only did as a last resort when they refused to cover her hospital expenses, for something that is clearly their fault).

But instead of that, people STILL cite this documentary, based almost entirely on lies, as a genuine criticism against McDonald’s instead of the actual, horrible things they have done.

I feel like it says something that guy who eats a moderate amount of Big Macs every day is still alive, while Spurlock isn’t.

What we learned? Alcoholism is more dangerous than stuffing yourself with fast food, combine the two and you got a potentially deadly combo.

I remember a family member specifically showing me the bonus clip from the DVD where they shove McDonald's food in jars and the fries are the only thing that doesn't get mold. And the family member said something along the lines of "they put some kind of preservatives on those fries to keep them from getting moldy. Imagine what that preservative must do when it enters your body". Then years later I'd discover that the mysterious preservative they put on fries was... Salt.

The whole premise of the movie Morgan presents is that eating fast food every day causes you to gain weight and destroys your metabolism. Then he introduces Donald Gorske, who has eaten at McDonalds every day for the last 30+ years, and the guy is a bean pole. Kinda destroyed his whole argument.

i’ve been an alcoholic (in recovery now) for a good many years and i can assure you that most of the issues he encountered are directly from alcoholism

being bloated, red face, chest pain, anxiety, liver issues, ED, worse cholesterol, etc etc etc. if anything supersize me is a better documentary on why not to be an alcoholic than why you shouldn’t eat mcdonald’s everyday.

virtually every single one of his symptoms would happen if you ate 5000 calories of processed food every day or drank a pint or more of liquor every day.
