The fact that a majority voted to cancel the split is so disheartening thing to hear as a fan

I really dislike that people are saying it should have been cancelled because they voted that way... Not only should this be their passion and they should be playing to win, but its their job. If you polled employees at a supermarket or something, I'm sure theyd vote to close if they got to keep getting paid. These players are the safest they can be with people catering to them while they are in quarantine. This just shows theres no drive in NA and its hard to see how that can improve without major changes in the league.

This is such a tactful verbal evisceration of the LCS pros; it's actual art.

If the players want to cancel spring split, then fine. But after you tell them their salaries get significantly reduced as a result, then they will find the motivation to play. Its pretty simple. Imagine all the grocery workers busting their ass for 30k a year, while putting themselves at risk in this COVID19 situation. Most NA players are so fucking privileged it's insane. No motivation, consistently underperform at worlds, and still have the audacity to want to cancel Spring Split.

All this has basically reaffirmed everyone's belief that the NA players won't fundamentally change their motivation, which means either the LCS system needs to be revamped, for example creating one long split where playing actually matters for worlds, or like Monte said, changing contract payout like rewarding performance more heavily.

does anyone else notice the very high pitch noise that starts at 1:40? It was in the viewing party video aswell, i had to watch that whole thing on 5% volume

I hope C9 wins the split since what year? 2014? But for me , for the sole reason is, they brought back Summoning Insight, my fav league talk show.

Two professionals making all points I agree with. I'm just a stay at home parent (wood smurf since '13) so I don't feel like my opinion matters much. To a fan though, the response from players was disappointing. That we don't matter to them, the people that watch their content for free. Because you realize at this point, not to be rude or offensive, but their popularity dictates their financial freedom: streaming.

Pros are making BANK on their twitch channels at the moment. Why struggle with whatever tech issues when they can make a living sitting at home worrying about themselves?

Sorry to be dark about it...but I never thought I'd see the day the players turned their backs on the people that made them famous. I was so excited to have LCS back, well, if it doesn't matter to them why should it matter to me?

Am I the only one who feels like Thorin and Monte may have had a conversation that got them in trouble at the end there? The cut off was so abrupt right when Monte was going off on NA, LCS and Riot. Hope everything is okay!
