Despite his fame, Pete Tong is actually an underrated dj..

An hour into this mix and I've only just now realised the city in the picture is Perth, Western Australia. I'm currently sitting in one of the windows in one of the buildings in the pic. H'ray!

Pete always had a style to his mixes. Vocal down tempo happy tunes at the start, instrumentals mid mix, "havnt" progressive/trance tunes near the end, then an optimistic banger tune to end.

Absolutely at the start of when I was legally allowed to DJ in the UK. Sir Pete of Tongs, Essential mix, &nbsp;used to be one of our influences for spending our DJ allowance on the, Top tunes around. We used to record this religiously and to this day, I still have many of these tracks on vinyl. Amazing times and long live the essential mix..........................;)<br> Btw, my top 3 essential mixes are still, Back to basics - Pete Tong and Ralph Lawson, Dave Lee (Joey Negro), and the Plump Dj&apos;s. &nbsp;Brilliant showcase of all things house, electronic and dance.

Omg, first time listening to this set. Still wicked, even in 2017.
