  I played MtG with Gary around 10 years ago and he was the full driving force behind Scottish magic. If it wasn't for him and his dedication to the community a lot of us wouldn't of had the same opportunity to play with cards and decks beyond our budgets. I have very fond memories of playing at Highlander from my first Friday Night Magic to making the final of the Magic World Cup qualifiers for Scotland - I may not have any MtG cards anymore but I still have the playmat for getting to the top 8 of that tournament and is one of my proudest moments as a player. If there is every a chance for Gary to be inducted into the Magic Hall of Fame for his contributions to Magic, I cant think of anyone more deserving of it! I am so glad that I stumbled across this video

  Gary is a great guy! I'm from Scotland myself and went to Highlander Games for the Eldritch Moon prerelease as a relatively new player to the game at the time. I turned up just a little too late to get a kit to play sealed. Gary saw what was going on just as he was opening his kit and offered it to me... I paid for it of course and made triple sure he was okay with letting me take his spot. Throughout the rest of the day he checked in with me and helped me tweak the deck and offered advice after games were played. I'll never forget his act of generosity that day <3

  Unbelievable. Highlander was my LGS for the past 8 years...I'm an American who just moved back from Scotland a couple months ago. I met Gary...never knew he was anyone other than a really nice and helpful guy who would help out at pre-releases. What a humble hero! If you're in Fife County or visiting Scotland, Highlander Games is a wonderful shop for MTG and much more!! Tony (one of the shop runners), if you see this, cheers from the States!
