  For all his faults Simm could tell a story and he was one of the funniest writers I've ever read.  And though he wasn't much of an artist to start he got the message across and he really upped his game when he got Gerhard to do his background and inks. Great vid Mitch. This is gonna be a fun series to review. That's it for me. Take care and TTYL.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9fL6KXZXSc&amp;t=202">3:22</a> Sim was ahead of his time in several ways and the unfortunate one was publishing diatribes that he should have put some thought before writing them; just like most social media nowadays. Yet, Cerebus is a genuine great comic book - the first phone book I read was Church &amp; State and it was a revelation. Gerard deserves lots of credit. Great video, is a good intro to Cerebus!

  And the unauthorized Gene Day Star Wars portfolio is pretty great. They got a cease and desist and had to recall it, though Day went on to actually work in Star Wars comics.

  Great vid! Seems like an interesting comic. Not sure I would ever pick it up though. Maybe if enough people recommended it. Seems a little to weird for my taste.

  Very informative.<br>It&apos;s funny but YOUR video says it&apos;s a review of Cerebus #1 yet you ACTUALLY cover so much more! (thank you!)<br>Another Youtube video claims to be reviewing &quot;Dave Sim&apos;s Cerebus&quot; but ACTUALLY manages to review half of one volume only (&amp; even THAT shows less of the artwork than you do!)<br>Well done. Thank you.<br>PS: Is all that swearing really necessary?<br>This would be much better without it. Just saying.

  I had the first two phonebooks, and enjoyed them. Definitely lost interest over the years though, before he went off the rails.
