  I think it was nerdrotic who said it, something like - they took boy brands, able to be enjoyed by everybody, and made them into girl brands enjoyed by nobody.

  What really bothers me is when people assume that women only defend the use of masculine stories to get male validation. Have you ever considered for a moment that some of us just genuinely enjoy masculine media? Is that really that far-fetched? Is that hard to believe that some of us actually have our own thoughts and opinions?

  I like &quot;boy media&quot;...what is sad is that I wonder why so many consider amazing, compelling stories as &quot;masculine&quot;, and replace it with mediocre &quot;girl empowerment&quot; junk. <br><br>I want to see strong men punch space robots and have it not turn into a soap opera.

  You said it yourself...The woman writer of Penguin knew the material. The majority of the women writers on Star Trek/Wars DO NOT know the material and I bet some have never even seen an episode.

  Studio heads for years told us multiple times, over and over, that masculinity is completely toxic. &nbsp;So it must be totally Earth shattering for them, to look in the mirror, and finally see and realize that they, themselves, were the true core toxicity to their own industry this entire time and they finally found out 5 years too late.

  The girls who liked media made for boys liked it when it was made for boys, and the girls who didn&apos;t didn&apos;t come when it started being made for them.<br><br>Frankly, I think all these companies need to grovel and humble themselves before boys or parents of boys ever give them a chance to entertain them again. And the longer they don&apos;t, the more desperate and cloying the groveling and superior the product is going to have to be.
