Nobody is exaggerating when they say that the "I need a Hero" scene is the best scene in the saga, in Dreamworks, in animation, and one of the best in history.

22:49 The movie had the 20th anniversary rerelease the SAME week OJ Simpson died so that joke HIT in the theater that weekend 😂😂

I wonder if Jennifer Saunders knew that when she stepped in to that recording booth to sing "Holding Out for a Hero" that she'd be singing to one of the greatest animated sequences in history.

23:00 I love that scene! Shrek (white man) being pepper sprayed with a mill, Donkey (Eddie Murphy), a black man, having multiple knight officers forcing onto him while shouting “police brutality”! and Puss in Boots, a hispanic, having “catnip” planted onto him 😂

Shrek 2 is the rare instance of when a sequel movie is considered equal to or greater than the original.

Jennifer Saunders kills "Holding Out for a Hero" as the Fairy Godmother.

Fun Fact: In an interview, the filmmakers confirmed that Dragon was supposed to come in during the fight scene at the end and reveal that Donkey drinking the potion turned her into a giant, fire-breathing pink pegasus

The finale to Shrek 2 is unironically amazing. It manages to be epic, funny, touching and thrilling all at once. An underated classic.

One of my favourite things about the gingerbread man scene is how the castle guard are trained and equipped for this specific scenario. They always knew this day was coming.

Puss grabbing his hat while the door is closing is 100% an Indiana Jones reference
