  Never get rid of concrete. It’s perfect parking behind the house. No way would I get rid of it.

  Keep the concrete drive. You can park things on it and maybe a carport over it later or a party patio. Don’t rush to demo anything.

  Maybe you’ve already considered this, but I’d strongly recommend not pouring your slab over the root ball of the cedar you cut down. I’m a contractor in Florida and I’ve seen those roots rot out from under a slab, causing it to settle and even crack. You may be far enough away from it, but I wanted to mention it just in case.<br><br>Thanks for such great content. My wife, daughter, and I love watching you both, and we’re excited for this new homestead chapter. Congratulations on breaking ground. To God be the glory!! 🙏

  Craig, I&apos;ve lived in Florida for my entire 66 years and lived some of the worse hurricanes to hit the state of Florida. In fact I was in your neck of the woods after Hurricane Michael devasted the Panhandle area. I was part of an electrical restoration crew out of Jacksonville working out of Panama City Beach October 10 - November 10, 2018.<br><br>In my experience, when you plan a home site, cut down all pine trees that could possible be fall on your new structures. Depending on the Category level of the Hurricane, 50 - 90% of pine trees topple during Hurricane force winds because Pine Tree roots run shallow compared to other trees. Add to the fact that Florida rains saturate those shallow roots and frequently cause rot and any high winds can topple a top heavy Pine tree.

  Use concrete area for cabin parking dont take any of it away. Put 3 side covering for &nbsp; vehicles or equipment etc....sorry victoria is right!
