  Hey all, welcome back to my 2.5 story reaction! I reallyyy enjoyed this story. I tried to be pretty neutral in analyzing Phrolova and Rover&apos;s positions, though I felt a lot of sympathy for both. I did my best to edit this video down into a cohesive experience so you can at least get a good feel of how I experienced it. Please feel free to check out my full livestream linked in the description for MUCH more in depth discussions we had about morality, philosophy, and consequences during my playthrough!<br><br>I also apologize ahead of time.   This is the pinnacle of story in wuwa so far. There is more good story to come, but so far this is the best.

  2.5 Was what made me change my opinion of this game story from really good to a masterpiece. <br><br>And I can&apos;t believe we haven&apos;t even peaked yet. Journey well~ Boop

  If you look back at the actions Rover took from the start of the game to 2.5 quest or even Rover&apos;s actions later on then you will notice that the main difference between Rover and Phrolova isn&apos;t actually their morals, but that Rover never TRULY failed, while Phrolova experienced nothing but failure. At Mount Firmament Rover put the whole region at risk of being frozen in time. Why? To save both Jinshi and her sentinel. At Black Shores Rover pretty much fucks up the Tethys system to save Shorekeeper. It seems to work for now, but could definitely bite Rover in the ass later, which would be really bad for the whole world. In the Inverted Tower Rover chooses to not sacrifice Cartethyia for an easy win and LOSES the first round against Fleurdelys, and if not for Cartethyia&apos;s intervention and sacrifice Rover would be dead and the whole region would&apos;ve been consumed by the Dark Tide shortly after. Not gonna spoil what happens in 3.0 but let&apos;s just say it was more fucked up than everything mentioned before. Rover&apos;s intentions were noble, and in the end these situations were resolved with minimal losses, but let&apos;s imagine for a second an alternative where Rover failed completely and somehow survived. Would the world just pat Rover on the back and say &quot;You tried your best&quot;? No, Rover would be declared a criminal same as Phrolova for letting countless people die when the risk could&apos;ve been completely avoided by letting a single person die instead.<br>Rover&apos;s character reminds me of Emiya Shirou from Fate series, especially the versions of Shirou from Heaven&apos;s Feel and Oath Under Snow.. Both versions are not considered to be heroes specifically because when forced to choose between their loved ones and the world, they decided to save their loved ones. Even Wuwa&apos;s own story later on keeps insisting that Rover is not a hero or a savior.

  Looking back at it now, Phrolova&apos;s story and music still hits me even more than Aemeath&apos;s.

  As Shorekeeper once told us, we lost more than simply our memories...<br><br>2.5 is where I believe the story has yet another subtle but impactful shift - up to this point WuWa has somewhat followed the same gacha idea of the MC being somewhat 1-dimensional with their only personality trait simply being the savior regardless of our actions, words and feelings and how they impact those around us. This quest is where we begin to pull back that curtain and explore more moral nuance and Rover begins to grow as a genuine character rather than simply the self-insert MC and it only grows more complex and more nuanced from here going forward.

  There is a quote by author David Gemmel in one of his books that goes as follows: &quot;Man is capable of greatness, love, nobility, compassion. Yet never forget that his capacity for evil is infinite. It is love itself that can breed the worst of evils&quot; which I think fits Phrolova&apos;s mentality and obsession nearly perfectly. (yes, I used this quote in an argumentative reply to a comment as well however, wanted to also include it in its own)
