It's easy to forget just how important the moral of Yoda's story is, often overshadowed by others or forgotten by his iconic nature. But Yoda's arc as a character, going from someone who demonstrated the flaws of the Jedi to recognizing how his darker aspects ruled him through a refusal to reconcile with them, understanding only too late his place in history to stop the Jedi's fall but just in time to make sure those who followed don't repeat his mistakes. It's that kind of acceptance of responsibility which makes a lasting peace possible, and such a fantastic lesson to take away from Star Wars that so often gets missed; loved seeing that with this one.

Yoda is such an iconic figure in Star Wars. He’s easily one of the top five things people think of when they hear the term Star Wars.

"Wars not make one great" and "luminous beings are we" are two concepts that shaped me from early childhood to the old man I now am.

Fantastic edit, and a fascinating character. If you'll permit me to be a little silly, consider how many generations of Sith were watching Yoda's career from the shadows, one of them finally triumphing and tearing down the Jedi Order, and ... then he just dies of old age. None of the Sith managed to finish him in 900 years, but every single one must have thought of it.

The greatest wisdom of an old master lies in their ability to recognize that they can still make mistakes in order to improve.

I almost cried, it was epic, what a great memory!

 "The greatest teacher, failure is."

Truly words to live by and what I use in my own teachings. Mistakes are often the best way to learn; that way, you know not to make them again.

For such a powerful figure in the Star Wars story to die in a swap with only the last remaining Jedi is tragic and awesome. Ying and Yang. The darkness and the light.

"He was wise, kind. But when I was young he seemed happier. As the Clone Wars dragged on, he carried a great burden. A deep sorrow. As if he knew before anyone else that one time was ending and another beginning."
—Ahsoka Tano
