I've been using Griots Fast Correcting Cream since it was released many years ago as part of the BOSS system. VERY GOOD PRODUCT. It is my go to product when I need a compound for cutting. Very effective, easy to use, easy wipe off, and leaves a fairly nice finish that doesn't take much to refine. In fact I have used it as a one step on several occasions to remove an isolated deeper scratch on paints with pretty good results. With a refining polish of your choice after BOSS Fast Correcting Cream and you will have a beautifully glossy finish. It usually finishes out pretty nicely. I've never used any other of the BOSS Creams, just the Fast Correcting Cream but I am sure if you used their entire range of polishes one after the other with the Griot's pads, it would produce an incredible finish. Their BOSS system was nicely designed by a chemist they have on staff and they even have accompanying polishers in the BOSS range along with all the pads you would need as well for a person that wanted a "one stop shop" so to speak with the Griot's BOSS system. They have it all. Even the BOSS chemicals and a specific BOSS Foam Cannon. An entire BOSS (Best of Show System) range of products to do a full decon wash, wash, and full polish detail on a vehicle. It's a very well thought out system. Griot's is one of my favorite detailing products company and I have been buying stuff from them since the early 90's when Richard Griot offered his products through a mail order catalog in the days before Amazon and the internet. At the time he was one of the better mail order detailing products company as not many were around during that time period. Nothing like today's world in the Golden Age of Detailing when you have every product known to man related to detailing. Using Fast Correcting Cream in conjunction with Perfect Finish as the second step will probably give you excellent results on just about any paint type (hard or soft) that you would come across. I like Perfecting Cream also and I use that product quite often as well and I have done exactly what you say you might try at the end of the video with using BOSS Fast Correcting Cream and then followed it up with Perfect Finish on a foam polishing pad and got stellar results on my 370Z using that combo. I always get comments on the gloss level of my paint and people are always asking what I used to get it so glossy. They think it's the wax I use. I tell them all that its hours and hours of polishing that get a paint to that level of gloss. Of course using a good quality wax or sealant can definitely add to the gloss and enhance it for sure, but 95% of gloss comes from polishing and leveling the paint. That's where you get the true GLOSS on a paint. And I will also say that the more you put into the polishing job, the more you get out of it. You can certainly do one-steps and most people will be thrilled with the results they can achieve with the right pad and product combo when it comes to one steps. I do them quite often and get great results. But with my 370Z which is my weekend and summer toy, I want that gloss to be as close to perfect as it can be. Which is why I just did a four stage polish which took me three weeks to complete. I polished it daily as much as I could tolerate for that particular day I was polishing, sometimes six hours or more in a day. I compounded, two stage polish with different types of pads, and then a final finishing or jeweling polish to bring out that last bit of gloss and refinement in the paint. It came out incredible. The glossiest paint I have ever seen. Every single time I drive the car now, I get asked about what product I used to get it like that. Again, I just tell them hours and hours of polishing will get you here. Some people are very curious on how to polish their paint and I tell them it's pretty simple and you can actually get everything you need from Harbor Freight here in the USA. They offer a full range of decent polishers and pads for those enthusiasts that don't want to invest a ton of money, but still want to give polishing a try and get similar results for a reasonable price. You don't need the extremely high priced polishers and pads to get excellent results. MaxShine offers a good range of products and many of the companies now have actual "systems" which makes it a lot easier than in the past to learn how to polish paint at home and get stellar results. RUPES has a full polishing system, FLEX has a system, Lake Country with their UDOS polisher and pad system, so there are a lot of great options running the full range of pricing from reasonable up to very expensive (but great quality) systems. One system I really like is the FESTOOL brand of polishers and pads. Super expensive but a great system. I also like Makita when it comes to polishers. I have their DA that can switch from a forced rotation polisher to a free spinning DA polisher with the flip of a switch. And you can do it on the fly too by just flipping the switch. Incredible DA polisher but you don't here much about it. Its' one of my favorite polishers to use. Very smooth operation and it cuts and polishes great, especially in forced rotation mode, even though it has a shorter throw of 8mm I believe. It's a competitor to the Flex 3401 forced rotation polisher (which I also have), but the Makita is way better than the 3401, much smoother and less vibration. Plus the Makita can switch back and forth between forced rotation and free spinning DA which makes it a step above the 3401 because you are essentially getting two polishers in one. You can use the forced rotation for cutting, and then flip it to DA mode and change the pad and you can finish polish, all with one machine, so it's a great option for enthusiast. And to be honest, one good 5" DA/Forced DA is really the only thing an enthusiast at home would ever need to get great results. You don't have to have the micro polishers, although they do make it easier in many areas of cars today with all the different shapes and designs these days. I have the micro polishers and I love them and couldn't do without them now. But for 25 years I polished using a big 7" and 8" pad polisher and that's pretty much all we had back then before the days of all these micro polisher options you have now days. It's crazy how many polisher options people have to choose from. Heck, even most of those Amazon polishers will be plenty enough for most enthusiasts just learning how to polish their own vehicles at home. I have a couple of polishers I got off Amazon and they actually work great. No problems at all with them and plenty of power.

The best one step is Scholl S20 Black, and it's available in NZ too as a rebadged product. You don't need to import products to find gems, just spend that time looking locally.
