I feel like Gary's main role is to bring the conversation back to a serious tone. He's like "WE CAN'T ALL BE COMEDIANS FOLKS"

I love this show so much. It's basically people sitting around talking science and having a good time.

This was an extremely interesting discussion but there was one point that came to mind that I didn’t hear anyone address. Historically, every emerging technology has had potential consequences that needed to be studied but one that often gets overlooked is that there are always those who will approach that same technology from the perspective of, “ what potential does this have to be weaponized”? The problem this presents is that governments have always been more willing to allocate huge sums of money on the possibility of developing new weaponry to obtain a strategic advantage than they have to find solutions that might benefit mankind as a whole. Just thought that this might also need to be taken into consideration?
