Kronika wasnt trying to maintain balance to keep The One Being from waking up, she was doing it because she's a control freak. Raiden takes Shinnoks head and it tips the scales towards "Good" and she can't have that. She wants a perfect balance. Shinnok and Cetrion to fight forever. God Liu Kang mentions that her obsession with balance was caused by a "descent into madness" and she sees mortal choices as imperfections that she needs to fix.<br><br>She's definitely the lesser of evils when it comes to The One Being, but she wasn't stopping mergers to stop that, she's just OCD
