Of course Anastasia was the prankster child, she managed to trick the entire world that she might still be alive for almost a century

The irony of there being a list of knockoff remakes of this film mirroring the many irl women claiming to be the long lost princess is not lost on me😂😅

Lied to his wife about her identity for years then made her remember by taking her to where her entire family was murdered? What in the Colleen Hoover?

"A family of brutal autocrats, including their wide-eyed, naive children, is kidnapped and murdered by point-blank firing squad in a dark basement by brutal revolutionaries in a brutal time for a deeply troubled country."
"...Children's movie?"
"Children's movie!"

The "Grandma, it's me! Anastasia!" woman has lived rent free in my head since the first time I watched it in the 90s. My mom's got this big ol faux fur "Father Christmas" coat (as my sister calls it), and every time one of us has to borrow it, it's a rule that you have to reenact that scene when you take it off afterwards.

I love that the Romanovs got changed into a harp, a cello, an accordion and a tuba, yet everytime they play music, you mainly hear some unseen piano. 😂

The joke with the guns but no bullets is so Soviet-adjacent I almost thought it was an actual joke from the era.

"They just got rid of the Monarch, they're not here for a second one" To be fair... that's basically what France did.
