So the dad’s never been late to anything? Must be nice to be Mr Perfect, dad!

J-A-Y is an A-hole … over protective and control freak .. I understand he has PTSD from his ex-wife, but that does not excuse how he is treating both his daughter and partner.

Op isn't a stepmom. Op is mom. She's the mom that will be there for Emma when it counts most, and that's what makes a mom. Not blood, but bonds.

What a self projecting asshole. He’s litterally insecure about the fact he couldn’t protect his daughter from her abusive mother. That’s why he’s treating op like shit. He needs therapy, and a serious reassessment of his life choices. What a shitty father.

I'm glad the dad was able to slowly let go of the past and let his daughter kinda like a butterfly

OP has the patience of Job… because Jay would find himself being a single dad.

This was a refreshingly different story from the typical ones, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing

This was surprisingly heart warming. I'm glad J.A.Y got it together in the end.

He is such an a**** just because his wife was an alcoholic and he's being a helicopter parent doesn't mean that his new spouse is a bad person she's done everything she can in her power to be a good parental figure and he trying to find fault in everything thinking that nobody can take care of his daughter but him if he really thinks that he shouldn't get married or date anybody at all.

this is what happens when a partner doesn't just divorce, so many people just divorce because it's easier than putting in actual work
