I love how the game's peso based progression ends up depicting mercenary work as wildly unprofitable, just a complete sucker's game pyramid scheme-style where you keep getting told you gotta spend money to make money but never do.

According to some sources, this is meant to be a prequel to Boiling Point, which would explain why Saul Meyers is younger, though not why he sounds like Nigel Thornberry.

You lucked out having the Don bug after the forger quest. His next quest is to kill then impersonate a guerilla leader and give a speech that is meant to dissuade people from joining the guerillas but not tip them off that its intentional. I have tried every single combination of answers (there's like 10 dialogue choices you have to make during the speech) and either you get everyone to join the guerillas in the first few questions and fail, or you get them to leave and say screw the guerillas which also causes you to fail the quest. Either way the Don says if he didn't like you so well he would have had you killed, you get some XP but no money and the quest completes and the Don says he has no more quests for you, go see his Nephew, which isn't an actual quest so I never did meet this Nephew.

I always wondered why the game never showed the monster that kills the fisherman but in like July of this year some guy dug through the files and actually found and re-implemented it, it's a big anglerfish like the size of a small car. Its texturing is a little rough so I get the feeling they just didn't have the time to touch it up before release and disabled it, but hey, in case you were wondering why the hell game gives so much attention to something that seemingly didn't exist in the retail version.

This game's acting had been pretty quaintly amusing all the way through, up until that final, incomprehensible run-on sentence rumination by Saul, at which point it became super fucking hilarious.
At least we got "CUT WITH KEVLAR," so the game got one quality line in.

The writers made Black Beak talk like Tarzan ("Me like your boss man. Me watch over village.") but then have him whip out a "whence" on us.

Lol that twist. I can picture it now, Congress telling the CIA director "this poison coke business is making people panic! You need to make sure the coke coming into our country is clean, understand?! Clean! We're increasing your funding"
