  in the same way that i don’t blame the guy holding the boom mic on that new harry potter show, i don’t blame a wandkeeper at universal. i say this as a trans person who’s hated harry potter since the late 2000s. but you did the right thing, for the sole reason that you needed to quit for your own sake, cause working for something you don’t believe in will kill your soul. keep fighting the good fight

  As a child I decided I wanted to be a writer because of Harry Potter. I thought, I can do much better. The bar is very low. Anyway now I got my foot in the door, let&apos;s say.

  I&apos;m a transgender man and I&apos;m also a father. You don&apos;t need to apologize; you can&apos;t help anyone if you don&apos;t take care of yourself. You stepped away when you were able to and were clear about why.<br><br>Don&apos;t be ashamed. Be proud. You didn&apos;t just not watch a show or not buy a shirt, you made very real sacrifices to stand up for others.

  You don&apos;t ask forgiveness, though I will say this - I am at trans woman in the UK, so my life has been materially changed by Joanne&apos;s hate, and I understand.<br><br>I worked a job in a country with healthcare, with a social safety net, that made me want to ride my motorbike into on-coming traffic, and I did so for years. All the time saying &quot;I need to get out, I need to make a change&quot; then a new bill would land. It destroyed my mental health and my relationships, but still I went in, still I put on my uniform and went to work. I justified it by telling myself I could put food on the table and &quot;thrive&quot; (I wasn&apos;t by any possible description thriving)... <br><br>My escape came in the form of my mother&apos;s relationship imploding and her needing someone to help pay bills, so I moved in with her, and found I could contribute AND return to education. I found a way out through a privileged position life had put me in suddenly.<br><br>So, I don&apos;t offer forgiveness because I don&apos;t think you need it. I know you feel remorse, but I also have lived under a capitalist world that makes you feel trapped in jobs you hate. <br><br>Among the voices that helped kept me going were YouTube creators like yourself and Caelan. Did JR make some tiny sum of money from your participation? Perhaps, but yours is among the voices who help educate the world what she&apos;s really like. <br><br>I thank you for the entertainment, and education I have gotten from you, and will continue to get (I cannot overstate how much I love Respect The Dead !), and I applaud your leap of faith to escape the JR (it occurs to me that with the K being made up she has the same initials as my mother... hmpf!) industrial complex. For however much it is worth for one trans woman to send her love and best wishes I send them. I hope things work out, and you can count on at least one subscriber and viewer and if I can stop being so bad with money one day maybe a patreon.

I DEMAND A FUCKING UKULELE SONG NOW! <br><br>Honestly, as the father of a Trans man and &quot;dad&quot; to a dozen more LGBTQ kids you have to cut yourself some slack. &nbsp;You can&apos;t fight if you are dead. You got out when you could and good on you for that.<br><br>I know it isn&apos;t much, but my Patrion membership will stay active as long as I can afford it.

  No war but class war, dear. When the working class is this powerless, standing on principle is a privilege few can afford. I&apos;m happy that you have earned a level of security that permits you to remove yourself from that position, and made a scary change even as we know it will still cost you in terms of risk and security.
