  all i gotta say is- 6MT, great fuel economy (when u want it), heated/cooled seats, adaptive cruise in a manual!, sunroof, adaptive dampers, 230 hp, 250 torque, infinitely mod-able - this is a sweet ride.

  Clean. Crispy and understated sporty. Agree about the red painted trim, luckily it's distinctly German silhouette keeps it not looking like a NISMO . These are really neat cars

  The 2026 GLI Autobahn is the 4th GLI Autobahn that I've owned (previously owning the 2012, 2020 and 2023), so you can see I've developed serious brand loyalty.  My 2026 is also the monument gray with the black package like the test vehicle here.  I agree with all your comments and am very happy with the combo of a nice sporty ride with practical comfort.  I don't have the manual, but I'm old and lazy.  I also agree that the previous grill is aesthetically more pleasing than the current grill on the 2026, but that's just a nit.  Also, the 2026 model's black package, unlike my 2023, does not include the mini black spoiler.  I thought that was a nice touch, and I've thought about ordering it for after-market application (which VW does offer), but I don't feel like paying the hundreds of dollars for it, plus labor to have it painted (it comes in primer color) and then installed.  Overall, I'm happy to still be a GLI driver.

  I have a manual Jetta and love it.  With current offerings there is no other car I would take over it.  Nicer cars? Sure but nice enough with the manual - totally satisfied everyday.

  I really wish Volkswagen would make an all wheel drive, I’ve owned three Jetta’s, currently have a Wolfsburg, I love the cars, but man an AWD would be sweet for the winter roads here in the North East.
