  Estate sales are a fabulous way to snoop in ritzy homes and get good deals for stuff, and it’s also fun and sentimental to get to know someone’s life through their tastes and styles. You can build their story in your mind just walking around. I wondered why someone in the family wouldn’t want the photos.

  I remember getting up early with my mom and going to estate sales when I was a kid/teen. She also worked at an auction house and we'd go thrifting all the time. Cherished memories🥰

  I’m actually shocked I was expecting cooler things. But it was also the last day. Prices were ridiculous for sure. I love little pictures for my gallery wall. The stain glass was my favorite.

  PLAYER PIANO SCROLLS!!!! I have some, you&apos;re right! THey&apos;re for player pianos which would play the music by itself. Early form of MIDI technology!!!

  For the stained glass, you can solder a few hooks and chains onto them. I made stained glass pieces in high school. You’d have to buy a soldering iron and lead which are not super expensive to buy and not technically difficult to add the hooks and chains. I’m sure there are simple tutorials on you tube. Love poking through estate sales. You never know what you will find. I got my living room chair at one quirky old house. It was vintage and had recently been reupholstered. It was pristine and I got it for $25! But I don’t live in LA. I’m a couple hours north of there. We have lots of wealthier people and historic homes so we have great thrift stores and consignment stores, including consignment furniture stores, antique stores and decent estate and garage sales.
