HUGE AMOUNT OF FUEL STANDOFF, LOOKS LIKE IT NEEDS ANOTHER 2000 RPM OR SOME TALL VELOCITY STACKS maybe even better flowing headers.

Fuel vapor in the air. Just think what would happen if one of the carbbs would blow some flame back.

I haven't seen in-line carb set up on an engine since May/June, 1967. They were on a GT40 that was on display in France. I was 11.

The inline carburetor was originally built for the Boss 302 in the Trans-Am series. The limit was 5-liters. There were no Boss 429's in Trans-Am. This intake was probably for drag cars. My guess is you need to spin it to really make power. Going with hydraulic lifters alone means he should have stuck with the 4-barrel. He won't have the RPM potential to take advantage of the 8v.

I would suggest contact InlineCarb channel. It looks to me he cast that intake and has an in depth vid on those carbs.
