  Maybe someone already said it, but the first illustration book is actually a book of a Soviet Union illustrator and all of those works exist in an animation form which I highly recommend to check out, they are basically have the exact same vibe as those illustrations! So the cover and most of the illustrations are from the book Cheburashka written by Eduard Uspenski and there is a puppet animation from 1969 called "Крокодил Гена и Чебурашка", some other works called "Варежка/Mitten" 1967 about a girl who wanted a puppy and pretended that her mitten is one, the other one called "Котенок по имени Гав/A kitten named Woof" 1976 about a friendship between kitten and puppy - my absolute favourite as a kid and now too, there's also an illustration from the soviet Snow Queen from 1957, fun fact: young Hayao Miyazaki saw this exact version in the movies and it became one of the inspirations for him to become an animator! And the reason why you can find such a book in Japan is because they actually really love Cheburashka as a character and he even has an anime version of his story! Thank you for the video <3

  i loved seeing the books you collected! Its so real and true that looking at digital inspiration can feel very flat, but when you're holding something in your hands it stirs something a little different. thanks for the video!

  I bought that glue in a japanese store here in sweden just because of the cuteness! The owner of the store told me that the jar can be turned into a little coinpurse after use by cutting of a piece in the back!

  They actually don’t sell Holbein gouache in Canada anymore (I was shocked when I went to the art store) I’m so jealous ! I loved all these purchases.

  Wow, the book with the art of Leonid Shvartsman is insane!! I grew up in a small town called Alushta and my whole childhood I was watching cartoons about Cheburashka and Kitten named Woof, which were visualised by him. All of the illustrations were used as a main reference in a bunch of Soviet cartoons. If you’re fond of his work, check out the cartoon ❤ I think you really gonna like them
