  As someone who trains in Kyokushin Karate, I honestly think the disrespect towards karate is unnecessary. Even I agree that some point-based karate styles may not work the same way in a real street fight, but not all karate is the same. In Kyokushin we train bare knuckle, take hard body shots, use knees, low kicks, conditioning, and fight with pressure. Our stance may look different, but it’s built for movement, timing, and power. People should understand the difference before disrespecting an entire martial art.

  I feel like every martial art is effective in any type of hand to hand combat. It really just depends on who the martial artist is and how they were taught aikido will have the most laughed at martial arts, but were taught good and you were actually good at it. You could beat someone who is trained, not trained who uses the same or short who uses a different martial art it really just depends on who you are and how good you are.

  Like most things it would depend on the skill of the martial art, each style has its advantages and flaws.

  Many martial arts get toned down because of adherence to certain rules. If these restrictions get removed any martial art can be brutal and deadly. I agree with some saying Kyokushin Karate is not your regular karate but a more violent version. And this doesn&apos;t even mention kali/arnis.
