They did it to cover up their own crimes and distort the facts. I found it strange that everyone started avoiding me and wondered if I had done something wrong, but I couldn't find anything amiss. Then I realized that person was influencing others against me; later, I discovered they had stolen from me. But I didn't try to defend myself or expose them—I just stayed quiet, as you said, because I know that lies have a short shelf life. Justice will be served.
