The funniest part of this draft is everyone that was drafted RVD, Kurt Angle, Taz, Big Show, and even Paul Heyman quit the company within a year or two after.

And that's why none of those guys are in SvR 2008

Angle as “the wrestling machine” in ECW was pretty bad ass tbh

In 2005/early 2006, the ratings actually went up and up for the first time since the late 2000, as Cena and Batista (Edge helped too) managed to bring a new wave of interest for the product more than Lesnar and Haitch with his endless reign of terror did in the early RA era. Sadly the 2006 draft and the ill idea of ressurecting ECW were among the (many causes) that this new wave was shorty lived

You forgot to mention one of the sneakiest move in that open contract, Johnny Nitro and Melina to RAW. He became an IC Champion, then Melina later on become involved in other storylines and even won Women's championship a year later. Heck, Nitro won the ECW championship as well the year later, it's all thanks to this open contract thing.

Rey Mysterio getting drafted to ECW in 2006 would’ve been lit

Big Show leaving WWE in 2006 was probably the best thing to happen to his career. By the end of 2006, he was legitimately over 500 lbs and looked really out of shape.

When Show returned to WWE in 2008, he had dropped nearly 70 lbs and looked far healthier and happier.
