  Yuri was the son not of just some random Vladimir, but of Vladimir Monomakh—Grand Prince of Kyiv and a descendant of the Byzantine Monomakh dynasty. As for the Kremlin, it was rebuilt by Italians during the reign of Ivan III the Great—grandfather of Ivan IV the Terrible—reportedly at the behest of his wife, Sophia Palaiologina—grandmother of Ivan IV the Terrible and the niece of the last Byzantine emperor, Constantine. These Italians were known as *fryazi*, which is why there is a town called Fryazino near Moscow. <br>Moscow has a sister city—Kolomna—which boasts a Kremlin almost identical to Moscow&apos;s and also stands on the Moskva River. And the Kremlin&apos;s sibling is Sforza Castle in Milan.
