I LOVE shoe packs! So much better than moccasins. I have pieces of sheep hide in the soles of mine. I may hide glue them in

I am sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but what are the buckles on your hat? I have also seen them on one of your coats as embellishments. I assume they are trade buckles but I am new to frontiersman of the 1700's era.

I made a pair based on this tutorial and took them on a successful public land hunt today, 3/4 of a mile in the dark over rough terrain, then 3/4 mile out packing a trophy buck. My feet didn’t trouble me a bit, and I was able to move through the woods quickly and quietly when unencumbered by boots.

Thank you for the tutorial, I likely never would have tried if you hadn’t done such an excellent job.

I may have missed it, what needle are you using for your sewing? I see that it’s a curved needle with a triangular point, but a name and a size would be helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share this video with us, love the breaks for stories and the way you present your information.

So when attaching the sole to the top leather of the winter moc, are you using a single stitch for the sake of authenticity? What I mean is most people working something like this would be using what they call a saddle stitch (which if you're not familiar does in one step what you do in two passes. ) Is the saddle stitch not authentic to the period or are you just unfamiliar with it?
