  In all my years and all my travels, I have never, ever heard anyone refer to a Jeep as British.

  Ralph Bagnold was stationed in Egypt before the war , and used to take people out at weekends on mapping expeditions , so the British were the only ones with reliable maps . This was an important part of what made the LRDG and the SAS successful

  this was when people made things A to work dependably, and B to be easily repaired with readily available parts.<br><br>Now we have stuff that fails within relatively few uses and is made so that you have to buy a whole new product instead of being able to repair anything. Even when things can be repaired you need the EXACT replacement and no generic part can ever be used.

  The Lewis bomb is a small hand held explosive and so the accompanying illustration at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7hKvARa4_o&amp;t=840">14:00</a> of what looks like a 12,000 lb Tallboy bomb, one of the largest bombs in the UK inventory, only deliverable by modified Lancaster bombers, does seem a little strange!

  The long Range Desert Patrol Group that were &nbsp;a thing long before the sas lads got together drove canadian trucks that were much more useful. They were the vehicles that rescued the first disaster of an attempt in attacking the enemy by the sas.
