I’m originally from the Midwest, I visited Atlanta on several occasions. One thing I noticed is, it felt like a community. I knew people from the Midwest who moved there. Most people seem to know each other, or know someone who knows someone. I moved to LA , because as a child I always dreamed that’s where I’m supposed to be. Living in LA for 12 years and that feeling has never changed. I’m an introvert, so I never felt like I needed to meet people. I’ve been blessed with opportunities I might not have gotten anywhere else. With the whole political drama going on in this country, I definitely feel more comfortable in LA or anywhere in California. Yes it’s more expensive here, but I been blessed to be able to live comfortably. I never get bored here, because there’s always something to do.

As someone who’s a California native, it’s not the people, it’s the politicians. California politics has been very mismanaged for decades and we’re seeing the impact it’s caused today. I’m someone with a bit more knowledge on California history than most. I would argue the issues in California begins during the turn of the 20th century

Nice to find your channel. So true. I've been in ATL from LA for several months now, and I definitely often miss the west coast. Thanks for your tips and perspectives.

Being a DC area native, you are spot on with the dense connectivity and stark geographic differences of the eastern US. California is an isolated empire of its own mostly, and relatively kind of self contained being in the west. Living in north central Georgia(Atlanta isn’t the state), gives you proximity to many states on the eastern seaboard ie I-85 or Midwest along I-75; or I-95 on coastal GA. In about 10.5 hours I can hop on interstate 85 north and hit Charlotte within 4.5 hours or VA and DC/Maryland within 7-11 hours, in a day road trip. Ohio and Kentucky between 4-6.5 hours, Detroit within 10.5 hours in a day road trip, Orlando within 6 hours on the road and Miami in 10hrs. 10 hours north in CA wouldn’t even get you out of CA from the southernmost terminal to Oregon. It’s centrally strategically located, this is important for logistic, business, commerce both national and internationally.

I often miss living in the Atlanta area. I lived in DeKalb County and Gwinnett County. I kept running into so many of my peers who I went to elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. I thought it was weird because I left my hometown hoping I wouldn't see my peers again.
