People call Napoleon a ‘European Alexander,’ but honestly he was something stranger and maybe more transformative. If he had crushed the British Empire and dismantled the German princely system, the entire modern world map would look unrecognisable. No British Empire means no global Anglo‑sphere, no USA as we know it, and probably no World War I or II.
Imagine a world where the old royal houses of Europe never got the chance to drag the continent into two industrial‑scale catastrophes. Napoleon wasn’t perfect, but his reforms were centuries ahead of their time — civil law, meritocracy, secular governance. Compared to the British Empire’s colonial model, his system actually tried to modernise Europe instead of freeze it in aristocratic amber.
History could have gone in a completely different direction — maybe not better, maybe not worse, but definitely less dominated by the same imperial families who kept pulling Europe back into war.”

History never cease to amaze me with how "civilized" nations have been rooted in some form of greed, grotesque violence and cruelty. Surely human beings have the potential to be more creative -- we have been given the gift of choice..
