It’s always wild to me how the original 1812 Grimm version casually drops that Rapunzel got pregnant in the tower, and her asking Gothel why her clothes were getting so tight was what gave it away. The way they sanitized the story over the years completely changes the psychological horror of it. Does anyone else feel like the original folklore was meant more as a warning for parents rather than a bedtime story for kids? Fantastic breakdown, Jon!

Repunzel’s dad could have just knocked on the door and asked for some of those greens. If he had simply asked for some, repunzel would have been able to stay with her parents but nope. Her dad had to be a dumb dumb

If I had a nickel for every Disney movie where the villain becomes a parental figure to the hero, locks the hero away in a tower for years and emotionally abuses them the whole time, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice.
