  Sorry about the slip-up on getting Cortana's voice actor wrong. The source I found had McElhone listed for one reason or another. Jen Taylor is the shit and I'm glad to know the correct actor.

  There&apos;s a whole thing in the background lore that originally the Unggoy, the Grunts, weren&apos;t even allowed to carry weapons into battle. They were literally being farmed with their rapid breeding cycle to die as cannon fodder.<br><br>However it then came out that the Kig-Yar, the Jackals, had been poisoning a type of narcotic the Grunts used, almost rendering them sterile. This threw the entire Grunt species into open rebellion against the rest of the Covenant, and for a short while they held their own.<br><br>Eventually they were defeated, but they had actually gained the respect of the Sangheili, the Elites, and it was after this they were allowed to carry weapons, join the military hierarchy, and be considered actually infantry. They still aren&apos;t respected by any other race though.

  Fun fact: in Johnson’s first scene talking to the marines, his dialogue is different depending on which difficulty you play on. This also happens at the start of the mission Metropolis in Halo 2. The heroic version is personally my favorite in both versions

So to them, they only needed Cheif&apos;s helmet (and by extension his head) to gain access to Cortana and the key.<br><br>Edit: Also, and this could be something you could look at later after say, Halo 3 maybe? But if you think Keyes got it bad just by looking at him, you don&apos;t know half of it. It&apos;s a detail that, once you learn it, you realize how truly terrifying the Flood is.

  The grunts always used to make me crack up. As you mow down 15 of them, they shout &quot;They&apos;re everywhere!&quot;<br><br>It&apos;s just ol&apos; 117 bro, no one else here 😂

  That moment when Chief looks around himself and you weren’t sure what was going on, I always assumed it’s that Chief didn’t know where Spark was taking him. And as he looks around and Spark asks “is something wrong?”, Chief has just realised he’s back in the room where he left Cortana…
