  I fly SIN-SYD often. &nbsp;Before he retired, Richard de Crespigny captained a few of my flights. &nbsp;<br><br>What he said was so true. &nbsp;Mid way through the flight, he&apos;d come to walk the aisles and reassure anyone who felt nervous flying. &nbsp;This wasn&apos;t just the typical business class smooze. &nbsp;He walked through the entire A380. &nbsp;<br><br>Such an amazingly down to earth bloke, worthy of his Order of Australia.

  I don&apos;t know if alot of people truly know what an exceptional aviator this man is. He, and his whole crew, on that day were at the most elite of elite levels. The decision making, the follow through, the ability to maintain mental control, to stay in the moment. It is simply incredible. This is a hero and a role model for airmen everywhere.

  Airline captain here. While this gentleman touches really important and interesting subjects, we can&apos;t stress enough the importance of people leaving their carry ons inside the overhead bin during an evacuation; time is of the essence, people can lose their lives just because you want to retrieve your ipad and a pair of socks, always obey cabin crew instructions.

  Those 442 passengers were extremely lucky that day. 3 captains, totalling a century plus of flying experience combining military and civil tactics in one of the best aircraft... very lucky!

  I can see why he&apos;s such a great pilot. &nbsp;He&apos;s a skilled problem solver. He articulates his thoughts so well. &nbsp;I bet he could pick a passenger from the cabin, seat him in the first officer&apos;s seat, and talk him through assisting him in landing the plane as a copilot. &nbsp;🤣🤣

  I absolutely agree pilots are all family, even though you’ve never met.<br>I’m just a private pilot, but I had a Delta 757 pilot save my butt when he was sitting behind me on a taxiway and saw something leaking out of my plane. It was actually pretty funny he said. “little tiny Smurf sized plane on taxiway Charlie you have something leaking.”
