  Served as a Marine Dog Handler from 2/68 thru 3/69 in I Corps with the 1st MarDiv. Fact. 53% of all casualties during war took place I Corps. It was a bloodbath for all involved.  Pulled tours with units of the 1st ,5th and 7Marines. Plus 1st Recon and Force Recon. Thank God I made back to live a full life. Semper Fi.

  This is an excellent program on the Marines up near the DMZ. I was on Delta 1/9 in 65 and 2/9 in 66. I've written a book about my tour of duty: FIGHTING THE SHADOW WARRIORS, A Marine In Vietnam.

  I am fascinated by Vietnam documentaries like this. Wars are won or lost by politicians not by those brave soldiers.

  My father was a rifleman with India 3/3 68-69. His descriptions of that area are of a brutal, mountainous hell.

  My brother was killed at Dong Ha March 8, 1968 in a rocket attack him and 10 others KIA and  17 more severely wounded

  I&apos;ve spent a lot of time over 30 years visiting battlefields around the Con Tien area, I have 3 Marine dog tags I bought from local scrap metal merchants when that was still a way to make a living there. Each time I go back always changing, now a major highway running past Con Tien.<br>After the Easter offensive of 72 locals started returning to their ancestral lands, yet farming it was deadly with so many munitions polluting the landscape.<br>One local who lives next to the famous &quot;Peace Church&quot;, Nhà Thờ An Hòa a few klicks S.W. of Con Tien lost all three of his brothers to different explosions.<br>Cluster bombs are the worst, they can stay sensitive to disruption for decades. <br>I &apos;ve heard many stories, the worst a group of kids on the way home from school playing chase in the grass beside the road.<br>Some of the narration here leaves a bit to be desired, but the footage is interesting.

  My cousin was KIA in Quagn Tri provence, I Corp 6/22/69, RTO that day for Lt Robert Mueller (yes that Robert Mueller) ambushed from a bunker, another marine who didnt even know my cousin, tried to save him and he was shot twice doing so. &nbsp;I found that Marine 50 years later. &nbsp;Rest in Peace PFC James E McMahon, 2/4, Hotel Company 3rd Marines. The Magnificent Bastards.

  I think my Dad was there 11/66 to 4/67 &nbsp;before being medvac out. Radio operator Michel (Mitch) J.E Pierson. Need to find his service records. Passed 01/92 due to cancer from agent orange at 46 yrs old. USMC 66-69

  Dad was in Hastings and prairie, the hill fights, he was shot up may 8th 67 at Con Thien - Lt Clyde Baker - Walter Kronkite interviewed him morning after that May 8th battle.
