  Its annoying me that the government is just ignoring this and allowing everyone to just go along, full speed, right into a wall. If they acted now they could prevent a stark drop off in supply causing chaos.

  The long term damage done to core infrastructure in the UK by the governments over the last 25-30 years is just astonishing. I specifically remember governments saying we need the free market to decide and if that meant that UK business had to shut down then so be it......

  Any rationing usually causes bad feeling because if it’s carried out unfairly which usually it is and then you have the gangs in the “black market added to that mix then there could be difficulties.

  In the 1970s oil shock there was alternate day petrol avalibility rolling power cuts 3 days work weeks and all my mother could afored to feed us was eggs and chips it was real. Bad

  It seems to me that we are very good at understanding what happened a thousand or two thousand years ago, but we seem to be very poor at learning from our recent history (the past hundred years or so). Perhaps we are just too close to our recent history, and therefore we are blinded by this, because we certainly don&apos;t seem able to use any lessons learned to better plan for future events.
