the F15 has a perfect combat record over 100 kills to no losses. So that "invisibile" tactic is pointless if the enemy can't hang with the tech and pilots.

I flew the F-15C for 14 years. Watching you two react is adorable! I wish I'd had room for you guys in my jet, lol

Radars are far more advanced than the systems of this interaction like almost 3 decades ago. 😂

The friend vs foe identification is done with a little antenna that broadcasts a code. When a contact is detrcted on radar the jet checks if it can detect the friendly code coming from that same direction.

What happened was that by dumb luck there was a friendly aircraft many many miles behind the radar contact from Mole's perspective, so the system marked it friendly. Rico however was on the ground and his radar was looking up, so there was nothing behind the enemy and he detected it correctly as enemy.

The tactic the Migs are using is called notching.

BTW, historically speaking, there is no guarantee that the pilot of the Mig is actually Iraqi. Soviet and Chinese pilots have flown in conflicts against American pilots for years. They deny it of course.

The new F-47 is being built at the same plant as the F-15 eagle was in St Louis MO

American radar on modern/updated aircraft is 360 degrees with a range of who the hell knows how far. It's not just the plane itself that is running radar - it's also getting reports from other aircraft and/or satellites and ground radar. everything is integrated now. it's what makes American radar so damn good.
