Does my index finger have to be separated from my middle finger?<br>And where should the top of the grip facing the sky rest? The bottom of my palm or the upper part of my palm that is closer to the thumb?

very similar to golf

First time seeing that Sandy says something that is untrue (or maybe I misunderstood him). The oldest, most traditional and reputable padel academies in Argentina and Spain teach FROM THE VERY BEGINNING to change the grip when hitting forehand or backhand. I was even surprised myself when I got to know this with my own experience, as I had the thought that changing grips is something more advanced and complicated (which I still think it is). But these schools insist that a player should start from the very beginning using the Australian or eastern forehand grip, and the eastern backhand grip. Of course the continental remains the standard, the base to what any player should return when not hitting these shots
