I am a karlos fan so i cant pretend to be unbiased but i feel like it doesnt matter too much if he loses a world champs tbh. He has said in the past that his ultimate goal is 4 olympic golds. He doesnt have to be unbeaten for 16 years for that to happen. Also i think people may under estimate how impactful major technical changes can be in initially decreasing ones lifts. I say just give him time, he's got more than enough of it.

Something I've noticed too as a recent weightlifting fan. Often times, a lot of Olympic medalists/champions do take a break after winning the Olympics. The quad leading up to the main event is just brutal on the body and the R&R is kind of a must if longevity is the key. Karlos however, didn't. He was still active right after the Olympics going to worlds, Europeans (where he ended up injuring his right shoulder), etc. That does add up over time, not to mention allegedly having to steer the Bulgarian weightlifting federation nearly single-handedly due to his local popularity/reach from what I hear. Regardless, Worlds 2026 is when he has to get actually serious for the first time in a while with a lot of faces coming back for blood for Olympic Gold. We'll see how this quad turns out.

I'm old enough to remember Dimas limping onto the platform at Euros 2000 and failing to clean and jerk 200kg. Later that year he won a third Olympic gold. Truly great lifters find a way.

Karlos lifts as much as he needs, those are his words, " I snatch as much as I can, and I C&J as much as I need for gold " so his scores are result of his competitors. In China if he needs 420 to win gold he will do it, he is prepared, keep that in mind !

Guys, I don't know where this comes from that Karlos is not training hard anymore. I can tell you that he has been in training camps - 3-4 in different locations since mid May. He has been home not more than a couple of times for a day since then. The fact he is keeping lowkey in the social media except his contracts engaged content and don't post lifts doesn't mean he is not training.

There are multiple totals which were described best ever until now, could you do a video on most influential lifts which resulted in the phase weightlifting is now.

Very good analysis as usual. I consider Alipour a better lifter than Moeini his teammate who was the guy who pushed Karlos at last year’s WC and finished 2nd with 391 having the day of his life. Another lifter to throw into the mix is Jokser Albornoz formally Colombia now Bahrain who did 390 as a very light 96 He was 89.5 or thereabouts. There is an interesting comparison between Karlos Nasar and Ilya Illyin both winning WC as 17 year olds setting youth jr and sr records like mad and having a long unbeaten streak the difference imo is that Illyin used to miss many big comps didn’t go to every WC or AC maybe 1 big comp a year. Karlos has been out there kicking it at least 2/3 comps ever year even 2023 when he had the Achilles injury. He won EC missed WC but still lifted in World Cup Qatar late in year. This Dawg ain’t afraid to mix it up!! None of really know how much the shoulder problems affected him in the last 1 1 1/2 years. If he’s 95% he wins imo.

Ali and Nurgisa haven't competed against anyone yet. Karlos already has experience and will probably benefit from having opponents who push him to improve. If he arrives in good shape and has a good strategy with his starting lifts, I think he is going to win.<br>I'm not saying Ali and Nurgisa are bad; they are both incredible. But it's clear that Karlos didn't need to improve his Olympic totals because he had the gold secured and was coming off shoulder injuries. If everything goes more or less normally, Karlos wins by 15 kilos.
