  Senator Sanders, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am from Germany and am following your efforts with great hope. Here in Europe, there is little we can do to stop a superintelligence other than signing a few petitions. We need to find a way to establish international regulations that include China. However, it seems to me that the political process is not moving fast enough and few people are listening to the scientists. Many people cannot grasp the complexity and scale of this technology. To those hoping solely for a universal basic income, I would say this: if we are no longer taxpayers, we lose a major source of leverage over policymakers; as voters, we suffer a massive loss of democratic say. We will become dependent on the system. Would we then have to fear for our basic income if we engaged in political protest? All of this needs to be carefully thought through first—we must weigh the risks and ensure the systems are controllable and regulatable—before we take the next step. Once again, my deepest thanks for your efforts, Mr. Sanders.

  I might not be an American Citizen. But from South Africa, I stand with this message to the public. Sen Bernie Sanders is the only one who is speaking up on the real threat and that it needs to be stopped NOW!!!

  Huge sign of integrity and intellectual honesty to be born in 1941 and be leading the charge on sane regulation of superintelligence. A lesser man wouldn't be able to take it seriously, let alone do the straightforwardly right thing.

  I think everyone has started to realise, the true danger of AI is that you cannot place clear controls on it and even the programmers / owners don&apos;t know exactly how AI does what it does. <br><br>Asimov&apos;s Laws of Robotics don&apos;t work here (and often didn&apos;t work in his books either) because he assumed that intelligent robots would be programmed / coded, rather than trained. I heard a good analogy: you can train a bear but you can never be sure it won&apos;t decide to eat you one day.
