Haha, getting new comments about the "Heavy Metal" aspect of the title, blame Channel 4 in '86 for that - that's what it said in the that weeks TV Guide ;D

I'm laughing very hard right now at the lady asking Don Airey if hey thought he'd still be playing in 20 years. I just saw him with Deep Purple two nights ago and he's not lost his touch one bit. Guy still rocks with the best of em. Right up there with Roger Glover, Ian Gillan and Ian Paice. Absolute legends.

Oh the irony of a Heavy Metal special and featuring Bryan Adams.

The hidden star is Maddy Prior from Steeleye Span singing on the Cadbury’s buttons advert!

Wow Jake E Lee was on fire 🔥 his tone and playing was spot on and his harmonic squeals cut through the mix like a laser beam through the night sky

At the time  lots of metalheads listened to Prog / AOR / glam & hair metal  /fusion & shred etc  so you got some rock/rock n roll stuff like Brian Adam’s  Hendrix , Yes & journey

You have to remember what a breathe of fresh LIVE air the Tube and the Old Grey Whistle Test were, at a time when bands on Top of the Pops just mimed along.

That Parker version of black dog was great. Never heard that before.

I grew up watching 'The Tube' in the UK during the 80's, it was the best music programme we had. How I miss it and the decade, anyone got a time machine? Thanks for downloading and sharing this, superb nostalgia
