  A great shame that the artefacts and paintings can&apos;t be placed in a museum before the lot crumbles. So many unique items.😮

  Why doesn’t the government of France restore these and rent out rooms to tourists or turn them into museums. &nbsp;These castles are masterpieces

  I feel a deep sadness while watching these abandoned videos. &nbsp;Just imagining how many people were born in, lived in, and died in these amazing castles. <br> So much history fading away, memories that will be consumed by time.

  The art alone in this house is worth millions , the clothes cabinets are still in great shape and many antiques still very valuable all going to waist rather then be in a museum

  Many years ago, here in the UK, there was a manor house that was sold off, subdivided by a developer that did some remedial work and central services put in and then subdivided into apartment sections which were sold seperately. Each purchaser was then responsible for restoring their apartment. It was an amazing project with a lot of very, very hard work over years, but the result saved the building and created beautiful homes.

  It is so sad to see how a tragic accident can bring down an entire dynasty. Every room has memories that are just frozen in time.

  This is truly a tragedy -- not just the decaying castle, but that is not loved, discarded like trash. &nbsp;It shows the lack of integrity and morals particularly with this younger generation. They are hateful and take so much for granted. Its a dam shame.

  It still blows my mind that families leave so many things behind. I understand that managing a Chateau is very costly, it does appear that the family could not afford the upkeep even when they were living there too much decay for being abandoned in 2008, but why they don&apos;t sell off the furniture or donate it with the clothing, then take family photos and other personal items before leaving. and at least try to sell the Chateau before it gets to the point that it can&apos;t be restored. Great video Lesley, PLEASE wear a mask, that black mold might cause harm later in life, you breath in way too much of it, also a lot of those old Chateaus have asbestos as well.
