Hi everyone, Leticia here. My original comment was removed so I'm trying again!

Thank you for watching and I hope that Auntie Mas' story touched your hearts. Her love was a pillar for my family and has shaped us into who we are today.

Now, it's my turn to do something for her. I am doing a fundraiser - details can be found in my channel description - for the people who want to help!

Thank you again!

"Sir, if you don't want her, I will bring her home" kinda sums up her character

As an Indonesian, I knew something that maybe one of you not realizing it all. Most of the people who flew to work overseas especially whom for the lower income family was only have one reason: poverty. Imagine Aunty Mas, she left her sons with her sister for 20 years just to set the future of the children, and then in the end she doesn't have anything expect herself. There are many "Aunty Mas" in here. A woman who pursue the future for her family and left herself behind.

I don’t know what actually happened between Aunty Mas and her sibling. But what I’m saying is that, unfortunately, there are some—not all—families of Indonesian migrant workers who seem to expect more and more from the family member who works abroad.

I actually once met a woman at the airport who was about to return to Taiwan for work. She had gone home to see her child, who had been staying with one of her relatives, and to check on a piece of land she had bought with the savings she had accumulated from working in Taiwan for five years.

But she was shocked when her relative asked for a portion of that land, claiming that they deserved it because they had helped take care of her child.

What made it even more frustrating was that, throughout those five years, the woman had been sending enough money every month to cover her relative’s living expenses, her relative’s children, and her own child’s needs as well. In a way, the relative didn’t have to work for a living because they were receiving enough financial support each month while taking care of her child.

Yet despite all of that, the relative kept bringing up their “sacrifice” and the fact that they had taken care of her child, as if that alone entitled them to a share of the property she had worked so hard to save for.

That’s the kind of situation I’m talking about. I’m not saying every family of migrant workers is like this, but unfortunately, cases like this do happen.

Auntie Mas is clearly a selfless person. I hope her family can appreciate her as much as (if not more than) Leticia’s family does

I feel so sad for her. She was far from her children when she was young, and now in her old age, she is still living alone without them.

She went far away to work to provide for her family and secure a better future for herself, but in the end she gave it all away to her sister, who asked to be compensated with a house for taking care of her family while she was gone. I don't know how I feel about this. I'm sure Auntie Mas would have sent money home to her sister when she was away. So asking for the house is a bit too much, IMO. In the end, Auntie Mas ended up staying in a rented room, away from her family again, after working abroad for 20 years. How sad! I really wish her well.

Just wanted to say, other than Auntie Mas' gold soul, there's a lot to say about the employer's family also. The mother is so incredibly strong for standing her ground and taking care of four kids on her own all these years.. and there's that same spirit in Auntie Mas too. The love of two women for their children gave all of them the opportunity to pursue life on their own terms. What an incredible story.
