  The most under appreciated/misunderstood Ducati sports bike. I've been riding only Ducatis since 1985, and my 2003 749S Monoposto was by far the best bike I ever owned. Put over 40,000 miles on her.

  If you love the bike that much, keep it and use it. Bikes are to be ridden, not just works of art. In 20 years time, if it has clocked up 50 or 100 thousand miles, sure it won't be worth so much money, but who can put a price on the memories you will have!

  Seat height of 30,7 inches, you sit in the bike, not like the new ones on top of a bike, 3 inches higher. I love my 999.

  It was the most hated Ducati when it came out thanks to not having single sided swingarm and it replaced the beautiful 996. This aged beautifully tho ❤❤

  For over twenty years this was my dream bike, last year I bought one, like Emma I’ve got the 999 fever! Love every inch of it and enjoy every ride! Even maintaining it is fun! Never sell just add😉

  Stunning machine. Very unique and great for taller riders like me. Put 72,000KM on one. Still going strong. Beautiful engine.

  The 999 was always beautiful. Just way ahead of the world with its design language, and so odd in the eyes of people accustomed to incremental change. I remember walking into the dealer and being gobsmacked by it. Something beyond anything available at the time, and beyond my price range. The bike design stepped a in a different direction than the pointy-insect-transformer esthetic that was beginning at this time. (and has now been going on now for over twenty years)  The 999 stood out then, and even more so now among decades of pointy sport bikes. But like the Harley crowd who will brook no change from what they think a Harley should be, the Ducatistas demanded and would only allow incremental change. Given to them in the attractive but staid 1098.
