  It's funny because everyone I know who's into competitive 40k says the tournament environment is really not that hostile and the vast majority of people are there just to have fun.  In a way it makes sense that most 40k horror stories involve sweats playing casual games where their opponent isn't prepared for them to break out Wolf Jail or Settlers of C'tan.

  Friend got me into fantasy when we were around 10 years old. I got a few models and we attempted to play a game. Neither of us really knew the rules and were just mucking around. His eldest brother gets home. He’s like 22 and a GW shop manager. Starts absolutely going off on me about my army composition being against the rules and all this other stuff. My friend just goes “you know if you had a girlfriend you wouldn’t be home right now”. Their dad who was watching tv near us just started pissing himself laughing.

  My opponent asked me what the range was on my big tau guns and i just respond. "Yes" its always funny when they argue ranges and im like "look dude i could shoot the dreadnought on the other table"

  I play World Eaters, I don't care if I win or lose because neither does Khorne, Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows only that it flows. If I win great, if I don't it's still fun. I just charge the enemy army, not much in the way of tactics, no meta because that's Khorne, that is what the army is for. People who take it too seriously just ruin the fun.

  As an Ork player the guy in the second story is such a disappointment passing his turn is the least Orky thing u can do win or lose you gotta FIGHT

  When I'm against friends, we trash talk, and when things don't go right we laugh about it. Against strangers, it's more about feeling them out and being a good sport. For my dice I make sure my dice tray is visible, even with my friends.

  I&apos;ve just started playing 40k again in person, after selling my first army after HS to pay rent in 2016... <br>I&apos;ve been painting and playing for 2 months now, and I&apos;ve already got three &quot;that guy&quot; experiences...<br><br>Now, my other 20 or so games have been so much fun for both people involved, so overall I&apos;m happy.
