  I just want you to know how proud my mom is of me for learning Mandarin from you 😂 I’m a Taiwanese-American who immigrated at the age of 7, so I lost a loooot of my vocabulary. Listening to you speak in Mandarin and then reading the English subtitles is 💯 helpful. THANK YOU for taking the time to include subtitles in both languages!   I met a congregation from Chengdu at a college and they said it was always cloudy there and they said “we so short because the sky so low”. I never forgot that.

  Think about this, Amy a Sydney girl is sitting in my hometown-Chengdu, whereas I am from Chengdu sitting in Sydney suffering Fish and Chips :)

  So fantastic to see a young woman who is carving out a space for food that is for younger audiences, but still is based on the ages old traditions that created it. And the mapo tofu noodles are pretty much perfection. Ugh…the snacks are not enough! I need some of this food NOW. ❤

  Wontons are what they are called in Hong Kong. It&apos;s interesting to see how English has accepted these words from the group of Chinese with which it is exposed. In Chengdu, these are called chaoshous, not wontons.
