Fantastic performance! One would never realize that it is a "left-hand concerto".<br>It is sad that it has not entered the piano concerto repertoire.<br>This is great Prokofiev writing! <br>Exciting from the first note to the last! Bravo, Sergei!!!

This is fantastic piano concerto by Prokofiev and composed in 1931 and commissioned by Paul Wittgenstein (who lost his right arm in the first world war) and Prokofiev wasn`t the only composer who composed for the left hand and amongst them are: Maurice Ravel`s Concerto For The Left Hand and Benjamin Britten`s Diversions, Op.21 (for piano for the left hand and orchestra). Great performances from Vladmir Ashkenazy with Andre Previn conducting the London Symphony Orchestra in this 1975 recording for Decca and definitely great interpreters of Russian classical music. I recommend this recording and still the best ever! 😊☺😇💯❤
