  Amazing life.....I'm surviving 2 cancers, the latter terminal, but I'm still here. I work on a small farm, ride motorbikes and take photos in rural North Portugal.

  I&apos;ve done the nomad thing a dozen different ways. I whittled all my posessions down to what would fit in a carry-on bag once and started doing seasonal work in National Parks and resorts. Alaska, Colorado, Arizona, South Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky, California...Working anywhere from 3-9 months, then on to the next adventure. I&apos;ve lived out of SUVs and vans; I&apos;ve crossed the US many times over by hitchhiking, hopping freight trains, and riding a bicycle. Spent about a year and a half living down in Mexico, just writing full time. I lived that life for the better part of 8 years. I miss it. I&apos;m at the tail end of one lease and need to sign another while I wait to heal up from a shoulder surgery--an old injury from my days as a paratrooper. I&apos;m already looking into vans again. I&apos;ve been &apos;domesticated&apos; for the better part of 2 years now, and the urge to travel is getting as strong as it ever was.<br><br>I don&apos;t know what people like me and this Scooter Tramp Scotty are after, all I know is that you find it when you&apos;re moving.<br><br>Great video.   We spend our lives working to pay bills and pay for things house ,car, furniture, clothes, etc. take away the material things and you got total freedom !! <br>Scotty figured it out

  Motorcycling is the BEST thing I had EVER done... rode for almost 10 years...... now... I ride through videos such as Scotty&apos;s. I still own the bike but the body of this old man won&apos;t cooperate at the present for me to ride. I STILL dream about the road... I wake ,, crying about the past rides in my dreams.... times that were so awesome... times that took me through sounds, sights and smells that I won&apos;t ever forget. Thank you road for my travels.   he is ABSOLUTLEY RIGHT about long rides being a form of meditation. seriously, its fun to ride with, and without music. when i ride with no music, it really retrains my brain from the daily social media brain rot i regularly intake. some days ill ride for maybe 5-6 hours straight, all around LA and surrounding mountains, no music, no directions, i go where the road takes me, only thing i do before i hit the mountains is make sure i got a full tank of gas haha. riding is so peaceful, i strongly encourage everyone to experience riding a motorcycle at least once, just make sure to ride responsibly, and ride safe.

  I once met a guy who had spent 40 years cycling around the world, over and over. He said he had done the trip 8 times and done 2 pole to pole trips. He told me some of the most amazing stories, how the night sky in the Sahara is so clear that the brightness and numbers of stars blew his mind. How a tiger in a jungle once stalked him for 3 days. When I tribe of pigmies invited him to stay with them for a few days and refusal was not an option. How he ended up once in the middle of a revolution and nearly got shot.<br>I guess only a very special type of person can live a life like that. It&apos;s not for me, but deep down I envy them.
